Renowned stage actors Basil Underwood and Joyce Arden are partners on and off the stage. An occupational hazard for Basil is that women often fall in love with what they see of him on the stage, he who sometimes indulges that adoration. Basil and Joyces personal life is passionate and tempestuous characterized by constant fighting and making up, which is often continued on-stage under their breaths. Betty consents to accompany Emmy Lou to one of Vannings private parties where the gangster ends up killing her for not submitting to the advances of one of the partys guests. Mary decides to tell the truth to the D.A., and is beaten to disfigurement by one of Vannings hoods.
