Unnikrishnan, a jobless youth has taken loan money from everyone he knows. But he couldn't pay back any of those. After facing lot of harassement, he decides to commit suicide after taking an insurance policy which can pay back his loans. He jumps into the sea, but gets caught in the fishing nets of Gangadharan and Ramanan and reaches a distant place. Madhavan is a petty thief who has a crush on Bhageerathan Pillai's daughter, Rugmini. Bhageerathan Pillai, on the other hand, considers him his arch-rival. Initially, Rugmini also dislikes Madhavan and plans a couple of schemes to trap Madhavan. But in a turn of events, the two of them fall in love. Then comes Eapen Pappachi, the new SI who dislikes Madhavan very much. A lot of comedy scenes follow. Then one day the idol of the village goddess disappears.
