A young member of an underground gang in Belgrade puts himself and his family in danger when he crosses a mafia leader who works for the chief of police.

Petar Maras uses the advantages of the acquired status of the undisputed leader of the Serbian underground. Wanting to expand his business and return to the framework of the law, Marash invests illegally acquired money in legal affairs, and looking for a favorable opportunity, he goes to eastern Serbia with his faithful friend Baca on an assignment. The story is set between the two World Wars. The Topalovic family consists of five generations of males: the youngest is 25 and the oldest is 120. Conflicts break out in the family because the youngest member refuses to carry on the morticians' trade, which for decades, from generation to generation, has been his family's occupation. The manufacturing of coffins is more and more lucrative, new technologies are introduced, burials are faster and easier, the crematoria era is here. But the youngest member of the family, Mirko, is not interested. He believes in a better, nicer and more honest occupation. In this belief he is supported and encouraged by his girlfriend Kristina and his best friend Djenka, owner of a small cinema. Kristina's father Billy Python, supplier of coffins to the Topalovic company, demands a larger share in the earnings, i.e. a fair division of work and profit. Thus these two families come into conflict. In the showdown all means are permitted. This is American gangsterism in Balkan style. Greatly disappointed because both his friend and his girlfriend betrayed him, Mirko commits murder. As a murderer, he returns to his family where he is received with open arms as the new leader of the family, aware of his strength and power, a representative of the new generation whose basic moral principle is ruthlessness. Biopic about Toma Zdravkovic, the man who is remembered not only for his songs and unique way he sang them, but also for his bohemian behavior and soul. The film explores both the very beginnings of his career and the height of his fame. Pivotal moments in his career are seamlessly woven into his complicated relationships with the women he loved, who inspired him to compose some of his greatest hits. Not to be forgotten are a huge number of lively friends he had in the artistic milieu of former Yugoslavia who create eccentric storylines of their own enriching Tomas story. In addition to Toma, the film shows lives of well-known artists of that time: Zoran Radmilovic, Mika Antic, Tozovac. The film follows two lines: 1991--the relationship between Toma and a doctor who starts Tomas treatment, and how it evolves into a friendship. The second line is about Tomas life--from childhood in Pechenjevci to a friendship with singer Silvana Armenulic, that will have crucial effect to his career and private life, to the time when he reached unfathomed popularity, but also touched the bottom of life.
