A father and son help each other through growing up, romance, tragedy, and adventure.

Chennai-based ACP Anbuselvan works together with a team of anti-narcotics officers and with the help of an informer virtually bring drug-dealing to an end. He is dedicated and believes being involved with anyone romantically may endanger her life, but changes his mind after he meets with Maya. Unknown to the entire unit, the informer was working for a gangster, who wanted all competition eliminated, and thus reign as the king of the underworld. Then Anbuselvan's world will be shattered when he and some of his team will be suspended for their involvement in the killing of a gangster, the brother of Pandiyan, while the latter vows that he will not rest until he has killed the entire team and their respective families. Prem Kumar (Vijay Sethupathi) is all set to get married to his lover Dhanalakshmi (Gayathri). A day before his wedding, Prem decides to try his hand at playing cricket with his friends - Bagavathi (Bagavathi Perumal), Balaji (Rajkumar) and Saras (Vigneswaran). The game gets little serious and Prem in a bid to catch a ball falls down only to get injured in his head. He quickly gets back on his toes as the injury is no serious. But soon after the match, the friends are in for a shock. Prem forgets a few days of his life and develops short term memory loss wherein, he remembers his life till college and recognizes his friends, but clueless about his marriage. Fearing troubles, the friends take him to a doctor, who says that he will recover anytime. So the friends plan to keep him in their company, enact all drama till he ties the wedding knot, with a hope that he would get back his memory. The sequence of events wherein the friends try hide Prem's problem to his parents, lover and take him to wedding hall, convince him to marry Dhanalakshmi, bring the roof down with laughter. When she meets a man Mathan (Simbu) who looks like the serial killer in her dreams, she is at once horrified and attracted. Mathan does in fact fit the description of a man who prowls and kills westernized women in bars. When the net closes in on Mathan, Mythili is inadvertently sucked into the police investigation into the grisly murders.
