It is an age old fantasy tale of a young boy and his struggles around his family and love. He is a lovable rogue, hopeless romantic, a poet and a righteous thief. He is an ambassador of happiness, who with his sheer presence and persona is able to spread happiness and positively around. The tale of Ali Baba (to use the more common Western spelling) is one of those generic stories, the details of which tend to be pretty loose: there are 40 thieves, theres a magical cave with the password open sesame, and theres a chap called Ali Baba who starts out poor and miserable and ends up rich and happy and gets the girl. In this version, Alibaba is scant while his brother Rakim is a wealthy, fat slob. Wandering in the desert, Alibaba sees the gang of forty thieves and overhears their password; inside their cave he finds wealth beyond measure and on this basis he becomes fabulously rich and popular and builds a palace for himself and his girlfriend Margina. Rakim, ever greedy, finds out the password but is found in the cave by the thieves and killed. Alibaba and Margina find Rakims head on a spike (!) and swear revenge. Meanwhile, the thieves are coming looking for Alibaba and try to sneak into his palace inside barrels, the leader posing as an oil salesman - but Alibaba and Margina are too smart for them. However, the leader escapes, leading to a climactic confrontation in the magic cave.

Set in Lucknow the show is based in one such all-women Police station made by 4 beautiful quirky women. Pushpa, the oldest of them, is the head constable who tries to balance her life between home and work. Karishma, the sub Inspector, is fish out of water as she is at loggerheads with the philosophy of the police station. She beats before she talks but now she has to solve all cases through reconciliation. Santosh Sharma is the young new recruit and a typical lonely girl in the city. The head of the pack is S.H.O Haseena Mallik, witty, romantic leads by example. The common challenge for all these women is to bring sensitivity to their policing while dealing with cases that come to this police station. Hence their solution are mostly unusual. The characters and the cases add to the fun and humour of the show. While Pushpa and Karishma are the saas bahu duo, who keep us entertained by their Squabbles, it is Haseena - Karishmas ideological differences which add to the drama and comedy.
