Back into 60s. While out there, in the West, they are listening to The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, the hippie movement is at its height, pupils in Bulgaria are obliged to be shingled, to wear full-dress uniforms and sing military songs. But for how long? A group of pupils from a language school believe they have to live differently. They are seeking for ways to shake off everything phony, to be candid with each other, to be part of a wider, much more motley and interesting world. Moth is freed on parole after spending time in prison on wrongful conviction of murder. Jailed shortly before the Bulgarian communist coup of 1944, he now finds himself in a new and alien world - the totalitarian Sofia of the 60s....

The film sends us to the 17th century when Bulgaria was a part of the Ottoman Empire. Four hoodlums break into the house of the shepherd Karaivan, raping and killing his wife in full view of their little girl, Maria. Karaivan decides to take the law into his own hands and becomes enslaved by his violent wish for revenge. He burns their house with his wife's body inside and abandons the gentle life they had shared, choosing instead to take his daughter to live in a rough hut high in the hills. He raises Maria as a boy, training her to fight so that she can kill in cold blood and help her father avenge her mother's murder. Nine years pass before the two locate and kill three of the four perpetrators. At each body they leave a goat horn as the symbol of their revenge. While on a mission to kill the last one at his rich oriental house, Maria becomes the unwitting witness of a love scene and change comes over her. Now, from time to time she secretly dons a beautiful women dress and exults in her newly found femininity. She falls in love with young shepherd and the hate begins to melt from her heart. When Karaivan discovers the change that is taking place in her it is already late. He tries to bring Maria back to him and their life of revenge, with disastrous results. Written by Georgi Djulgerov

Four boys and one girl from the country establish an instrumental group with a lead singer - two guitars, ionic, percussion instruments and the pop-singer Vanya. The pop group is hoping to make it to one of the big seaside hotels during the holiday season. Their dream is to stay at luxurious hotels, and to become famous. It seems as if they can succeed, but they have to compromise with themselves. First, they have to change their singer with the mediocre beauty. The director of the youth club where they are rehearsing agrees to lend them the amplifiers, but only if accompanied by a mediocre singer ii whom he is clearly interested. And this is when they have to make the first compromise - they part with Vanya. Once they arrive at seaside hotel, the 'protégé' they were looking up to, turns out to be a cheat and the boys have to make do with a small beer bar at the beach. On the 'road to fame' they encounter unexpected difficulties, their new, beautiful singer causes additional trouble. In the vortex of small compromises, mild flirtations, merriment and disappointments the group is learning how to be self-reliant and independent. The road leads across a peak called The Judgment, a place full of dark memories from thousands of years of history, but also from Mityo's own past.
