Neelakandan (Mohanlal) is the heir to the Mangalasserry family who squanders away his father's wealth. He is the largest and is a dependable menace to society. One of his victims is promising dancer Bhanu (Revathi) who vows never to dance again till his death following a public affront by Neelakandan and his cronies. Ironically they fall in love. Meanwhile, the vicious Shekharan (Napoleon) of a rival clan has sworn to avenge the death of his uncle, killed by Neelakandan's men. A reasonably watchable film that goes fairly awry towards the second half. Innocent is good as Neelakandan's long-suffering manservant. Written by Joyojeet Pal

Chacko Master (Thilakan) is a mathematics teacher as well as the school headmaster in a fictional small town. He is a very strict teacher and does not go easy with his own son Thomas (Mohanlal). Frustrated with his father's heavy-handedness, Thomas leaves home. After 14 years, Thomas returns to his village, now the owner of a stone quarry and a criminal who has a number of unresolved court cases against him. But it is later revealed that she is mentally retarded and he is forced to give her shelter. Nischal (Jagathy Sreekumar) who is Joji's friend finds that Nandini is a missing person and there is a huge reward to find her. He prompts Joji to hide her till the reward is increased, but later Nandini reveals that she is not mentally ill and she is an illegitimate child in search of her father (played by Thilakan). A young Tibetan lama, Rinpoche is pursued into hiding in Nepal by an evil cult leader (Puneet Issar). Meanwhile Vishnu and Kalyani never get on well and keep on fighting. But later she develops an affection for him and wishes that she could marry him. But the arrival of a mysterious stranger (M. G.
