Rudran (Arya) in Kasi. Fourteen years later, repenting his act he goes with his daughter in search of him. He finds him there but is shocked to learn that he has become an Aghori, a character who gives moksha and prevents the soul from getting rebirth. Nevertheless he brings him back to Tamil Nadu. The story takes a turn here and introduces us to the world of physically and mentally challenged beggars. A world controlled by the cruel Thandavan (Rajendran). Hamsavalli (Pooja Umashankar) a blind girl is forcefully separated from her troop and made to join the beggars. Soon she becomes another victim of Thandavan's cruelty. Meanwhile, Rudran leaves his house to find his place on a small cave, and soon meets Hamsavalli, who tries her best to convince him to return home, but fails. Thandavan then takes a deal with a Malayali man of the same profession to sell some of the beggars.The Malayali guy forcefully takes the beggars away,although they want to stay with the rest of the beggars. He returns again,but this time to force Hamsavalli to marry an ugly, deformed man for 10-lakhs worth of money. Thandavan orders his men to bring Hamsavalli but they take Hamsavalli to Rudran to help her. Rudran kills the Malayali guy and is also arrested by the local Police. This agitates Thandavan and he orders the Police man to release Rudran so that he can kill him. In the mean time Thandavan also finds Hamsavalli and on one incident, Hamsavalli refuses to marry the deformative,which angers him and he runs away without marrying her. This angers Thandavan, who deeply wounds her. Rudran is shown wounded in his forehead with blood oozing out. Flashback opens where Thandavan appears face to face with Rudran. In the fight between the two, Rudran kills Thandavan. Rudran's wound in the forehead is caused due to the fight. She later goes crying to Rudran to somehow free from this curse and also prevent her from rebirth. The aghori then kills her and grants her moksha. In the final scene Rudran returns to Kasi. Kumbudraen Saamy (Arya) is a skilled thief who cons people for a living. His cross-eyed half-brother Walter Vanangamudi (Vishal Krishna)is not so good at at the same trade. They are born to the same father but to different mothers. The two men quarrel frequently and Saamy often pokes fun at Walter's shortcomings. Highness (GM Kumar) as he is dearly called by the brothers is a local zamindar who enjoy's the company of both Saamy and Walter and takes an affinity toward them and treats them as his own family. Once, a masked Walter breaks into Police Constable Baby's (Janani Iyer) house, but she recognizes the man and thwarts his attempt to rob them. Later they develop a fondness for each other, mostly born out of Walter's childish nature and submission to Baby's persuasiveness. Saamy too develops a relationship with Thenmozhi (Madhu Shalini) who cons him by giving him her fake gold bangles. Actor Surya comes to the village for a fund-raising meeting and Highness asks the actor to watch Walter's performance before he leaves. At first, Walter's antics draw laughter and ridicule from the crowd, but soon they begin to appreciate the honesty of his emotions and Surya shows his appreciation by hugging Walter and wishing him a great future. This incident changes Saamy's opinion of Walter and in an inebriated state he confesses to Highness that he actually likes Walter and that any ill-feelings he has had are totally misplaced. The brothers unite and this makes both Highness and the two mothers happy. Meanwhile, Arya brings Thenmozhi home and tells Higness that he wants to marry her. But Walter interjects and destroys the moment by revealing that Thenmozhi is the daughter of a long-standing enemy of Highness. Saamy is enraged and runs off at the mouth, accusing Highness of using his old grudge to gain control over him and his love. Heart-broken, Highness takes to the bottle. Saamy leaves saying that he cannot let Thenmozhi go just like that. Later, Highness reconciles and permits Saamy to marry Thenmozhi. Now, R.K, a local goon who smuggles cattle to Kerala is busted by Highness and is arrested amongst much media fare. Soon, he returns to rent his wrath upon Highness - kidnapping him from his home at night, RK strips Highness naked and flogs him to unconsciousness. In the morning, Highness is found dead, hanging from a tree by the lake. The brothers are devastated, Saamy rushes to engage R.K in a fist cuff but is brutally beaten down. But Walter returns with a vengeance and bashes R.K to pulp, his emotion running high he beats R.K so badly that the smuggler begs Walter to kill him. Walter has other plans - he ties R.K to Highness's funeral pyre and allows him to burn while still alive. Prem Kumar (Vijay Sethupathi) is all set to get married to his lover Dhanalakshmi (Gayathri). A day before his wedding, Prem decides to try his hand at playing cricket with his friends - Bagavathi (Bagavathi Perumal), Balaji (Rajkumar) and Saras (Vigneswaran). The game gets little serious and Prem in a bid to catch a ball falls down only to get injured in his head. He quickly gets back on his toes as the injury is no serious. But soon after the match, the friends are in for a shock. Prem forgets a few days of his life and develops short term memory loss wherein, he remembers his life till college and recognizes his friends, but clueless about his marriage. Fearing troubles, the friends take him to a doctor, who says that he will recover anytime. So the friends plan to keep him in their company, enact all drama till he ties the wedding knot, with a hope that he would get back his memory. The sequence of events wherein the friends try hide Prem's problem to his parents, lover and take him to wedding hall, convince him to marry Dhanalakshmi, bring the roof down with laughter. Prabhu is a young man whose life significantly improves after buying a bike, as he gets a decent job and gets closer to his crush Hema. Things take a deadly turn after his bike gets stolen, prompting Prabhu to relentlessly search for it with the help of his friends. This hunt eventually pits him against the underworld as he learns his bike was used to transport drugs. Prabhu must prepare for the worst and protect his family from an egoistical gangster, while continuing the search for his beloved bike.

The protagonist in the film, Gandhi Babu (Natraj) is a skilled conman. He dreams up ingenious scams and executes them perfectly. He sells ignorant people ordinary snakes claiming that they are exotic and will fetch crores in the international market. He promotes a non-existent 'multi-level marketing' company with its controversial chain referral schemes promising a BMW car within the year. And the climax has him pulling off 'the rice pulling scam', one of the most high profile scams of recent times. About 40 minutes into the film Gandhi Babu is arrested and multiple cases filed against him. But the money he has scammed over the years comes to his rescue and he is released. He is not in the least remorseful and continues to manipulate everyone. He believes that if a person is foolish or greedy enough to be duped, then the person is to be blamed. He argues that every election voters are conned by the candidates who promise them the moon, but never come through. Banu (Ishara Nair) is from a poor family. She comes to work for him and falls for his charms. Despite having a soft corner for her, money is Gandhi Babu's first priority and he abandons her. A violinist witnesses a hit-and-run accident and tries to help the victim (a girl) from fatality in vain as the dead girl breathes her last holding his hand. He is unable to erase the memory and soon understands that the ghost of the dead girl has decided to stay in his house. Attempts to exorcise it fail & when his mother meets with an incident, he goes aggressive and goes behind the dead girl's father asking him to burn her remains.
