In 2020, three young blokes, Jil, Jung and Juck, with nothing in common between them, are assigned the task of transporting an Ambassador car coated with cocaine-paint by the dreaded drug lord, Dheivanayagam. Along the way, they encounter Narasimhan with an almost identical car, who makes small talk and tries to gel with the trio. After a night of drinking the trio escape the pub without his knowledge. The film opens with Vasudevan, a police officer, investigating the murder of Ramya, his ex-girlfriend. Initial reports from the scene of the crime suggest that Ramya had committed suicide. But Vasudevan suspects foul play and moves into the same apartment complex where Ramya lived, in order to investigate further. While the police investigation is underway in the neighborhood, people who are associated with the case are killed under seemingly mysterious circumstances. Vasudevan soon discovers a supernatural force in play, which seems to have taken the form of water (H2O). He probes further and learns that Ramyas spirit is behind the killings. Ramyas spirit then uses her sister Divya as a medium to reveal the true circumstances behind her death at the hands of her husband Bala (Nandha). The spirit recounts the story of Ramyas marriage to Bala and their life together. In the early days of her marriage, Ramya inadvertently confesses her past relationship with Vasudevan to Bala, after which he develops a strong jealousy towards Vasudevan. Later, when a young neighbors (Heera Selvaraj) paramour intentionally insinuates that Ramya is his lover to a nosy neighbor, things take a turn for the worse. Rumors about Ramyas alleged trysts with her lover begin to circulate in the apartment complex. When Bala learns of the rumors, his jealousy turns into rage and eventually consumes him, driving him to murder Ramya. The movie then moves to the present where a happy couple Krish [Siddharth] and Lakshmi [Andrea Jeremiah] make love, bringing in their memories of the times they met and how their love blossomed. They suddenly notice that a new family move into the next house. Krish is a doctor who uses electrodes inserted into the brain to bring the sensation to numb fingers. He is close to another doctor, Dr Prasad, who is a psychiatrist.

The story takes a turn here and introduces us to the world of physically and mentally challenged beggars. A world controlled by the cruel Thandavan (Rajendran). Hamsavalli (Pooja Umashankar) a blind girl is forcefully separated from her troop and made to join the beggars. Soon she becomes another victim of Thandavan's cruelty. Meanwhile, Rudran leaves his house to find his place on a small cave, and soon meets Hamsavalli, who tries her best to convince him to return home, but fails. Thandavan then takes a deal with a Malayali man of the same profession to sell some of the beggars.The Malayali guy forcefully takes the beggars away,although they want to stay with the rest of the beggars. He returns again,but this time to force Hamsavalli to marry an ugly, deformed man for 10-lakhs worth of money. Thandavan orders his men to bring Hamsavalli but they take Hamsavalli to Rudran to help her. Rudran kills the Malayali guy and is also arrested by the local Police. This agitates Thandavan and he orders the Police man to release Rudran so that he can kill him. In the mean time Thandavan also finds Hamsavalli and on one incident, Hamsavalli refuses to marry the deformative,which angers him and he runs away without marrying her. This angers Thandavan, who deeply wounds her. Rudran is shown wounded in his forehead with blood oozing out. Flashback opens where Thandavan appears face to face with Rudran. In the fight between the two, Rudran kills Thandavan. Rudran's wound in the forehead is caused due to the fight. She later goes crying to Rudran to somehow free from this curse and also prevent her from rebirth. The aghori then kills her and grants her moksha. In the final scene Rudran returns to Kasi.
